Danbury, 20 Jun 2012 - DANBURY, Conn., (June 20, 2012) — Cartus Corporation, the leading provider of global relocation management, has earned one gold and 17 silver 2012 Connecticut Quality Improvement Award (CQIA) Innovation Prizes for cost-saving and service-improvement projects.
Over its 16 years of participation in the program, Cartus has been honored with nine gold and 258 silver awards from CQIA—America’s first state-level quality awards program to use the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for Performance Excellence criteria. The awards were conferred at CQIA’s 25th Annual Conference on Quality and Innovation, held earlier this month in Portland, CT.
Cartus received Innovation Prize award plaques in recognition of the accomplishments of 18 separate Cartus teams made up of 158 employees.
The Gold Award-winning team was singled out for the creation of CartusMobile?—the company’s revolutionary smartphone app that enables clients and their relocating employees who are in the midst of moving to access critical relocation-related information. This includes the status of their household goods shipments and personalized news feeds that contain brief, relevant, updated information on important milestone events such as successful submission of expense reports or assignment of a language trainer.
The Silver Award-winning initiatives represented a wide variety of finance-, real estate-, client services-, and safety-related innovations.
“This year, CQIA has reached its 25th anniversary as America’s first state award that uses Malcolm Baldrige’s criteria for performance excellence,” said Sheila Carmine, founder and executive director of the CQIA organization. “For a quarter century, CQIA has been in the forefront of advancing innovative programs that improve quality, performance, and marketplace competitiveness. It is inspiring to see how many organizations, large and small, are driven by innovation to set new standards of excellence.”
