Singapore Celebrates 50 Years: SG50!
A weekend of celebrations is taking place in Singapore from 7-10 August as the country marks a significant milestone in its history, SG50—Singapore’s Golden Jubilee!
Singapore became an independent country in 1965 and, despite its modest size, it has become one of the most economically successful, vibrant, and culturally diverse countries in Asia. Much of this success has been credited to the forward thinking of Singapore’s founder and leader Lee Kuan Yew, who sadly died earlier this year at the age of 91.
Staff at our Singapore office marked SG50 with celebrations in the office on Thursday, and many will also participate in the huge variety of planned events, designed to celebrate Singapore’s unique heritage and culture, over the holiday weekend.
Along with other businesses in Singapore, Cartus’ office is closed for the Friday 7th and Monday 10th August public holiday in recognition of this momentous occasion. We wish our Cartus team and all the people of Singapore our congratulations and very best wishes on SG50!
