Hari Raya Haji is an important religious holiday observed by Muslims around the world; however, with stricter COVID-19 measures in Singapore, the festival celebrations were pared back for 2021. Compared to the bright and vibrant celebrations of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Hari Raya Haji celebrations are more intimate and hold more significance for those who have completed the pilgrimage. For Muslims who are not performing the Haj pilgrimage this year, this is still a great time of blessings and self-reflection.

Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu Jie, is a traditional festival celebrated in China and throughout Asia. The festival’s formation can be traced back over 2,000 years ago. One of the most popular stories associated with the festival is the legend of the patriotic poet, Qu Yuan. People beat drums and paddle out in boats on the river as they once did to commemorate the death of Qu Yuan.
